University Park Country Club hosts 17th Annual “Art in the Park”
April 8-9 event includes exhibition and sale

University Park Country Club will once again host the 17th Annual “Art In The Park” juried exhibition and sale on April 8-9, 2017. More than 30 local artists will present recent art works to compete for cash awards as well as offer items for sale to the general public. Visitors will also have the opportunity to cast their vote for “The People’s Choice” award, highly coveted by the artists.

Jurors for the exhibition include:

Susan Covert, an award winning local artist with experience as an illustrator, who focuses on still life and landscape, here in Florida and in rural New York

Herb Booth, a commercial photographer with decades of experience, both in the studio and on location, working with clients to produce high quality, artistic images that best express their messages

Eleanor Merritt, a multi-media artist who has been an art educator in Westbury NY, is the founder of Women Contemporary Artists, and serves in various Sarasota art centers and organizations, including the Florida Artists Group

Event details

More than 2,500 people are expected to attend the show, which will be open to the viewing public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, and held in the Club’s blue and white gazebo-like tent, rain or shine. Works for sale include both two and three-dimensional fine art. Entrance to the show and parking are free. Park Grille & Café will also be open to the public for lunch on Saturday and Sunday Brunch.
